Hi,  i have recently bought a e34 535 which i am very happy with, however i can not get the screen wash to work!!!Angry please help !!! all replies very much appreciated.

Try checking the fuses, then the relays, then the electrical connections on the washer bottle itself - could be anything from a blown fuse to a broken core in a wire..or even a broken switch on the stem...

Personally I would check everything from the stem down to the fuse box first before giving up and visiting a garage. These things are usually irritating but relatively simple to cure.

Hi Hitsyboy,

had same prob when drivin my 520i se for the first time, washers worked ok for awhile, then just stopped! thought the washer bottle was empty turned out to be blockage in feed from washer bottle!

Same prob but I guess diff solutions!?! Best of luck!

Hi guys!!, sorry for the delay i have been away garaging my mk1 golf gti as i now have my bm!

Thanks for the help and to answe the question no there is no sound whatsoever and the heaters dont seem to work very well! one more thing when i start the car i get a message in german starting with K which seems a vgery long word any ideas?

Not sure about the german message but I've had to change a few washer motors on E34's over the years. It normally starts with intermittent failure then it just stops altogether.

Can you disconnect the plug and put a volt meter on the terminals to see if you have power when the washer stalk is pressed?

Forgot to mention - stick the german word into Google's translation tool. It's what I use when I'm stumped with something in the manual. Should give you a clue as to what it means.
