05:50 says the display. Better get a shuffle on then.

Hour and a half later, and one Gatso flashing later I was on the road to the great unknown called "The North" Kevin (BMK) and Rags (Rags ) ahead of me.

The journey was swift. Soon we met a M Coupe (M3Imy)

We stopped for juice.

I could feel we were getting close. My highly trained intuition, was telling me.

Now at this point I MUST pay tribute to the black fella in the E46 M3. He GAVE me, for gratis, for nuffink a complimentary entrance ticket. And wouldn't take any money off me.

I didn't catch his name, but hopefully he'll see this and again I must say THANK YOU

Anyhow, after a £1.50 cup of coffee it was time to have a look around. We admired the scuplted curves in the merchanise shop. And the Formula BMW car was nothing on hers. We were very nicely asked to leave the Drivers and Guests hospitality area by another lovely young lady We needed to get to the inner sanctum. The Paddock. Though to be fair I did manage to find and ask the only person who didn't speak English.

Some Kumho Racers

A brief tour of the garages continued.

You think Optimax is expensive And the "Open 24 hours" is a lie. It was always closed

Came across a rather nice E36, Owner described it as something to mess around with on roundabouts

Some more random racing followed

This is the C3 sponsored car.

And this is the biggest air filter and Samco I've ever seen on a E30

The 5th Gear team were in attendance. What you can't see in this picture is Vicky Butler-Hender-Hendersons 40foot pie truck Its evidently in her contract....

The BMW CC GB had quite a nice display of various BMWs (funily enough) Heres a selection

Immy gets everywhere

Then there was a parade lap for the BMW CC GB. Ive never seen so many BMWs driven slowly in my life

Immy again. You blagger

Hartge H26, 1 of 3 alledgedly

The LMR went out soon afterwards. Bit bloomin quick.

Some Formula Ford team were there....

Once Id told them where they were going wrong, they made the adjustments and Andy Prilaux went out. He said "Thanks Rich, I lopped a good half a second off my lap." (or maybe not )

I have a video clip I will try and upload it later.

In a recreation of FHMs "who the hell are you" Rags and Kevin wanted a photo of them together to remember the day. Unfortuantly some bloke wandering past thought he'd muscle between them

Once Id explained to him, that I was the guv round here, he went and got into his FF and drove off.

My over-riding memories of the day were that. My exhaust although noisy sounds awesome in a tunnel And that I can leave 2 very nice black marks when leaving Rockingham. Oh and the kids in the Fiesta we saw in London probably went home thinking. "I gotta get me one of those"

And the day was good in places, but there wasnt much there to be honest. No trade stands at all. Only the BMW CC GB selling stuff.

Some great pics there- I tried to rouse myself from a deep slumber at a similar time but I'd only been home a couple of hours at that point.  Wish I'd made the effort now!

Great pics dude! was nice meeting you and having a good blast on the way up. After I showed that 330d that i could leave him for dust once, i let him go past and the ****** threw about 100 stones up for me to hit!! sounded like hailstone.

Can't believe the size of VBH.

Rich love that pic of my car from the floor. can you send me some to i.arshad@ntlworld.com please when you get the chance. Going round the track was a good laugh when we let a bit of a gap build up

My dad drove the car back home and dispatched an m5 and csl on his way.

Great day out, let's hope it becomes an annual event, three friends who came with me had only ever seen an F1 car on TV so they were blown away with the noise and speed, my first time at Rockingham, very nice circuit, must win the prize for best toilets at a racing circuit! As Peter Kay would say "Hot and cold running water" Take note Silverstone!!

Went on the Saturday, wish i'd have gone on the Sunday as well

Hardly anyone there and couldn't workout how to get to the paddock area

Still had a great day though, best memories of the day was that E30 touring drifting round the track in qualifying and Andy Prilaux spinning the LMR on the first corner out of the pits
