Thanks doive, Needs a new bonnet though as there are paint blisters. Otherwise, drives sweet and doesn't look too bad. Already have the modding bug though, so I don't think will stay standard for long. Paul |

Wow Paul, that is looking seriously sweet. Have never really been a fan
of the E34 shape, but that looks superb. Those wheels suit it spot on.

I must take some scenic pics of my freshly renovated E28. it looks absolutely superb now with new rear bumper & a front wing replaced. all buffed up & gleaming. I've got a sports interior to go in it, or I may be selling the sports seats to recoup some dosh, as I've spent too much on cars Finally a decent audio system as the finishing touch, then it will be ready for the summer cruising. |

Excellent, I have one possible taker for the online E28 archive. Be
nice to see how many we could get, so step up to the plate lads.
Phillip, what about that nice E28 you have floating amongst the E23s?

Ok guys, Ian emailed me some pics of his wonderful E28 so I've built him a webpage here.
If anyone else has any pics of their current/old E28 they would like
stuck on a webpage, PM me and we can arrange to have them emailed -
don't want to post my nice spam-free email address in open forum! A few
pics plus a story about the car would be good. I'd like to get details
of as many forum E28s as I can.

I'dve kept the alpina's as well, they're nice wheels. 528 came with 5 bbs cross spokes (my fave)and good tyres, so won't be changing them anytime soon.

Andy, The wheels are 17" Alpina replicas which I had on my E28. Was not going to let them go with the car when I sold it. Paul |

Thanks Paul, each to our own, got plans for E28 but need to get it all running as BMW intended first, lol! Got a 2nd hand rad with usual plastic overflow stub broken off, took it to local rad specialist to see if they can fix it. Thought maybe they could tap & die a small metal pipe in. They say no but they may be able to fix it another way. If it works I'll post details as it seems to be a common problem.

Good for you Ian! I've started modding already - clear front indicators. What a pig to fit - took an hour and twenty minutes to do but was definately worth it. Paul |

Well I'm staying with E28's! taken 520 off road for some TLC, collected 528 today, rad I took with me was too wide, caused problems. Lots of minor electrical faults, nearside rear window comes down but won't go back up, drivers side rear doesn't work at all. Electric sunroof tries to work but can't quite manage it. Not sure if fan working and I can't get date to set right on ****** trip computer though I got it to tell correct time and read in gallons/miles. Damaged door is barely noticeable, gentle application of size 8 on inside should do job, has armrests on front seats, interior a little grubby but all ok. Drives fine. Haven't got new cruise control switch yet but can see where it should go, remote selector for trip computer on end of indicator stalk. Wil post pics when I can (or Wendy will come out with digital camera). Generally better than expected! |

It feels lovely to drive and the brakes feel so much better - I found that when taking my farewell ride in it. I have mixed feelings about which I prefer - would liked to have kept the E28 but couldn't get to the bottom of the overheating issue. With having a young family I got to the point that I had to get a newer car that should last a few more years. Although when Jimmy came to pick up the E28 his first comments were about the clear lights all round and the bodykit - he's only seen one other car with them on and gave big compliments!!Made me very happy but have a nasty feeling that she won't be on the road for too much longer though. Do you prefer the e34 to the e28? As it's bigger, does it feel bigger to drive, or just as wieldy? AG |

No unfortunately, but only has short MOT and taxed until July. Even the clear indicators all round (which are unavailable in the UK) didn't help. No, didn't get overheating issue sorted - still does it if stuck in traffic for long periods of time, but have a nasty feeling that its only the viscous fan as the fan on the 530 is a lot tighter than the one on my E28 (being from GSF and the new car having a bmw item) which is quite worrying. But I made the decision to seel the car when I saw this one come up. Had the money for it and wanted a change. The new car is auto, cloth interior, and all my audio system from the other car (JVC head unit, SPLX 500W amp, Blitz 1000W sub) Paul |
