all DSS departments are a pack of w**nkers and i am a disbaled pedson myself but luckily i have a good job aswell but i have to make fresh claim every year and fight like f**k to get things sorted. I lost my whole right like in bad bike accident and they told me more than once that i can't have mobility at high rate because i might get better. ( like bathing in Baby Bio works) I agree totally with Ally If i was an imigrant or Refugee with 6million kids and 43 wives i could have the world at my foot a house mobile job money everything paid for. The whole goverment stinks. Let the Lib dems have a go the other 2 have tried and both screwed the country up.

When given the choice of either losing out on benefit not paid or a £10 rtn ferry trip, on this occasion I think the ferry is a far better idea. A friend of mine from the IOW had a stroke 5 yrs ago, after I spoke to him last night about what they have done to me, he contacted them about his own claim. He called me this evening. They have no record of his claim, its all gone, no archive, no nothing and they have stopped his money but not notified him til today when he spoke to them.
Where the hell is the justice in doing that? Those people working in that office don't give a rats behind about how they distress people and mess them about. Well sorry and all that but gloves are coming off. Its time that office was investigated and sorted and if that means closing it down, well so be it. |

...and be able to bite the hand that feeds you...
That's secondhand news, surely?
Well, that'll make a third screw-up, then. In for a penny, in for a Euro...... |

That office has kept in excess of £9k from me, quite possibly twice that amount for all I know til the letter confirming how much was authorised to be paid but wasn't. Records are being lost, deleted or whatever they want to call it. This probably isn't the only office thats doing this kind of immoral and distressing behaviour. Maybe whoever takes over at the election can do something, whether they do or not depends entirely on how important they think it is. But there are alot of disabled people out there who are pig sick of being treated like second class citizens and being cheated out of benefit they rightfully deserve.
I'm chuffing well furious and that ain't good for me cos it causes me problems but hell, whats wrong with these people, are they putting us though this so the stress kills us and that gives them a proper reason to stop the benefit we deserve? |

I agree with what you said Mal. They told my friend who had the stroke that his sight would eventually return with rest....5 yrs later his sight has deteriorated. They still witheld his Disabled Living Allowance and only when he appealed to DLA office in Blackpool, they told him his claim had been given the go-ahead. When confronted, the IOW office said it was an oversight, no apologies given.

Would I be right in thinking that you have crossed swords with the Sheppey office, Ivan? |

Er, no. The Isle of Sheppey is just the sort of place where "couldn't care less in the community" would make the IoW people feel right at home.....

Well I'm not entirely sure where I'd stand if I took the DWP to court over this. Afterall they are in charge of the office concerned and would, I think, have to answer for faults inside an office under their 'umbrella'. I am seriously considering taking this further, regardless of the outcome of the current investigations.

Done that today, formal complaints posted to IOW and head offices. They are legally obliged to reply apparently. I want to take it further than that though, should their response not measure up - which I suspect strongly that it won't be more than the usual 'we apologise' letter blaming staff shortages, computer errors and such like. |

The ECHR love making a mockery of the British Governments policies, just look at what they did to Prescott over the Gypsies and Travellers rights. Maybe worth a trip to Brussels to have a word with them. |

The thought has already crossed my mind a few times. Its about time IMHO that a British citizen fought for the rights that others seem to be handed without so much as a bye or leave. Having said that, I don't see it fair that anyone born and brought up in this country should have to fight for what is rightfully theirs when people drifting in from other countries have everything handed to them on a plate. |

The last time I came across a company called Veritas they were the global leader in Backup software ... maybe the DWP could do with having a word with them.
