Hi, does anyone know where I can get the proper BMW body and valance decals for my BMW 635 1985. Its black so would need the silver ones. Im gonna get her re-sprayed and I want it to look great.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Motormec said BMW doesnt list the part any more.

If i was to go to a sign shop as had been suggested, which one, and where would they get the patterns??? They are a complex design!

Are you looking for the "knifeblade" stripes or the twin-pinstripes?

If it's the "knifeblade", then your stripes will be similar to mine:

...and the part numbers for the silver decals would be as follows:

Complete decal set: 51 14 9 056 380 or 057 071

Airdam decorative stripe, front left: 51 14 1 866 649
Ditto, but front right: 51 14 1 866 650

Front wing decorative stripe, left: 51 14 1 866 637
Ditto, but right wing: 51 14 1 866 638

Left Passenger door stripe: 51 14 1 866 641
Right Driver's door stripe: 51 14 1 866 642

Left rear three-quarter stripe: 51 14 1 866 645
Right rear three-quarter stripe: 51 14 1 866 646

All the above can be ordered via Andy Howlett at Motormec: (01502) 500590. Tell him Ivan sent you (at which point you'll probably raise a groan or two.....)

can they still be ordered from a dealer? I have just ordered a load of stuff from them for my 85 e23, and it takes week to get from Germany! Price was keen to!

if you find a small sign shop with a vinyl cutter .they would reproduce the decals no problem .and they wont charge you the earth ..i dont know the price they would be from bmw ..but i think opting for the small sign shop would work out cheaper ...well it allways has done when ive needed vinyl decals

If I were doing this job, I'd use a local signwriter with the afore-mentioned equipment. Tip them a few pounds on top & they'll apply them for you! A friend of mine in the Midlands has done work for me of this type before - you'll probably be able to buy them, have them fitted for less than the graphics would cost from BMW/Motormech etc.

Or just go to Newmarket with a credit card edge and a heat gun and unapply the ones off the 6 in the picture.

Try These guys

http://www.prosign1.com/

Neil the owner is a car nut and they do all the stuff for our business. What he will need is some photos of the decals you require from 90 degrees on each panel. He can also do for you painted sign writting and does most of the cars on the custom and drag circuit.

If you tell him James Sohl from Sutton Junior Tennis Centre has recomened you he will no were you have come from.

Hope this helps

James
