    Posted: 14-April-2005 at 07:31

As you may know the visit to the transport museum is scheduled for Sunday 1st May. The museum opens at 2pm and contains a collection of public and commercial vehicles (don't think they hold cars!) but is supposed to be a great trip.

I plan this to be a more family orientated event compared!

I have contacted the museum and hope to have finer details about this later/tomorrow but in the meantime:-
* who is planning on going?
* are we going to eat in the deerpark [four earls restaurant or palm tree bistro]
* there are also the rhodendron gardens where a nice walk can be had
* what about a round of golf or P&P? (see deerpark-hotel.ie/golf/rates.html) [remember though I haven't held a golf club in 20 years!] [hmmm, the thought of tearing down some of the fairways in a golf buggy ]. Anyway, if golf is a runner, who wants it (so I can pre book for you) and do you want it before or after the museum visit?

Further info about the museum from www.nationaltransportmuseum.org

I might just and that would mean leaving my car behind and take the other car that I have to keep modding with the latest in car entertainment for the little ones Might be nice to treat them to a bit of grub also.

Why, do you not normally feed them  I suppose with all of that expense on your baby (Bimmer) you have to make some cut backs. It's all about getting your priorities right.

Ado the latest expense was in the other halfs car so that the two keep quite on long journies etc.

Is the club coming out to Howth to visit me??

Considering the transport museum is about three minutes from my house and I've never been I'll be along for a look.

There are nicer places in Howth that the Deerpark to eat though.

There's the

1) restaurant in the Bloody Stream (pub in the train station),

2) Deep, restaurant on the west pier (booking prob needed but nice)

3) Aqua at the end of the west pier (not cheap)

4) Cafe Ciara at the end of the sea front, chipper you can sit down in, it's quite nice

5) Beshoffs - take away chipper

7) Abbey Tavern, pub grub

8) Big Blue, nice family restaurant, recommended

9) Ella, in the middle of the village, restaurant / wine bar. Nice for dinner.

I hope this helps.

If emergency facilities are required for injured / dirty children etc I can probably oblige!
