Robin Trower is playing in Deal Sat 23/04. What about that then?! Anyone remember 'Bridge of Sighs'?

I'm 31 and love rock but can't say I've ever heard of him. I'm now subjecting my two kids to 70's and 80's rock and they love it!! Especially now I have my 1000W sub in the boot now - time to upgrade the amp!!

I'm 30 and also a bit of a rocker, although I'm more into Heavy Metal and thrash. Who is Robin Trower?

I do get a few strange looks from people when i go past in the car with something really heavy blasting out at full volume.

I considered a sub but I thought I'd end up with too much bass!

Who is Robin Trower?

I thought this post would be about Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Megadeth (now known as Megapants!) and Metallica.

Disapointing.

LOL...What happened to them? They used to be great. Right up to Youthanasia then it just went down hill. The best album they ever did was So far, So good, So what. A masterpeice.

Peter

My thoughts exactly on Megadeth.

What was the instramental on that album.. Into the lungs of hell.  Great piece of riffing that.  Always meant to learn the bass part to that one but haven't yet.  And the one Dave Mustaine wrote on the day Cliff Burton died, its nearer the end of the album.  Can't for the life of me remeber it.  Need to look it out tonight.

Metallica does it for me.  Everything up to that piece of musical hogwash that is St Anger rocks!

In my darkest hour? The two after that are 'Liar' and 'Hook in mouth'

The whole album is superb. I've seen them live twice, although it was a while ago. The first time was on the 'Clash of the titans' tour with Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies and Testament. The second time was at Newcastle town hall just after they released 'Rust in peace'

I've not been a big fan since 'And Justice for all'. The next Album was OK but IMO not a patch on their earlier stuff. Master of Puppets is one of my all time favourite albums and was responsible for me getting into metal. My mate had it and the first time I heard it I was hooked.

Peter

Thats the one, In my Darkest Hour, excellent.

Justice for All was a bit ropey.  Ride the Lightening was my fav 'tallica album, cos I can play most of Burtons bass lines to all the songs including the Call of Ktulu!  Great distorted Wah wah bass.  Ahhhh

Slade, t-rex, all excellent stuff. 70's music is fantastic, steve harley, simon and garfunkel, rod stewart (ahem), status quo, queen, the wurzels(!), and the best for me is fleetwood mac. And I'm only 23, so its all before my time. Don't like any of the modern chart stuff really, it has something lacking.

Best track for me is The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.
