520 Touring centre console lighter

   Hello all,
I wanted to fit a 12v socket in back of my 520 touring (E34).Found a panel with socket on the dreaded ebay.Ive got 2 wires going to a plug spare inside the console but these look to thin to take the power of a lighter.
Where would I pick up a suitable supply without having to remove half of the interior?

	The batery is under the back seat so it doesn't need to long a wire running. Simon
