This trip came up at the meet on Saturday so I've had a look at some dates, flights and hotels. Booking this early would be real cheap so lets start putting somethin in Stone.

Press days:
1st press day: Tuesday, September 13, 2005
2nd press day: Wednesday, September 14, 2005
Trade days:
Thursday, September 15, 2005 and Friday, September 16, 2005
Public days:
Saturday, September 17, 2005 - Sunday, September 25, 2005

Flights:
Ryanair will do a return flight going out Wed eve coming back Friday eve.Price : €55

Hotel:
Looking on Expedia there are hotels beside the venue for €100 for two nights.

Here's some pics from the 2003 show-PHOTOS

Just had a quick look and Hahn airport is a fair distance from Frankfurt and the show centre, not quite the stroll suggested on Saturday!  Significantly interested though!

Yes but their rail network (and PT in general) is far superior to ours / yours, so you wont have much bother getting to it from the Airport.

As far as I know there is some sort of shuttle directly to the show so it should be a piece of cake.

Right, I'm ready to book flights.  Going out on Wed 14th September at 18.35 from Dublin, returning at 22.00 on Friday 16th.

Is this what people have done/are doing?

During the week it probably won't make a huge difference between the first and second week.

Good spot Richie!  I hadn't copped that.

I had a look at the show website and it doesn't say anything about how you "qualify" for the trade days, but the ticket costs are higher (€42).  For the press days you need accreditation.  I'd guess the trade days are probably like the preview days in Birmingham, but its probably best to err on the side of caution.

What about the same days the following week?  Ryanair fares are the same.

That sounds more like it. Lets aim to book the flights by end of week.Give a couple more people time to read it.

Just been looking at different flight prices. To fly into The main Frankfurt with Aerlingus is €124 return. Flying into Hahn just outside Frankfurt is only €54 with Ryanair with a short transfer...when i say short probably 1hour. Call it sightseeing.
What do you think?

I'm all for that, €70 difference will cover a round or two.
