AndyS

The M635CSi looks fabulous - I've been reading your spot on the NE January newsletter.

The 6 holds a special place in my heart because it was a car I used to see every day when I was 13-16 years old.

My parents lived near to a guy who owned a white edition, on an F plate too.  He used to drive past the house at exactly the same times every day and I'd sit on our wall just to be able to drool at it and listen to it growling.

I often wonder what happened to it because it was very much his pride and joy.  He also had an old 'Morse' Jaguar.  He had very nice taste in cars come to think of it.

Look forward to seeing your M a bit closer up a some time in the future.

I'm ashamed to park my E36 coupe in the same postcode as Andy's 6!

It isn't actually an "M" 24 valve model, it's an even rarer Motorsport Edition.

From what I can gather, they were a limited "run-out" model that had most of the choice options thrown at them as standard such as lsd, wheelarch spats, sports suspension (some reckon it's the M6 setup), sports seats, M-Tech wheel etc. Engine-wise it's standard 220bhp 12 valve. Still fast enough mind! It's colour (Misano Red) kinda sticks out a bit (****** camera van!) so discretion is required.

Will we be seeing you at the next meeting at Seaton Burn 2nd March?

You're right Mick I was very impressed!

Mtec530 do you have any details on the M3 in Teeside? Do they have a website.... I couldn't find anything under the name?

Cheers

p.s) As Sammi and I are on holiday in Thailand we won't be able to make the next meet! Look forward to reading the newsletter....

AndyS

Wednesday 2nd March is good for me so I see no reason (to date) why I can't be there unless anything urgent crops up work-wise.

See you there!

Thanks - bit unsure about doing a circuit until I get a spare set of wheels/tyres for the car.   Not that thrilled about the thought of damaging the 19's and tearing the tyres off them through over-enthusiasm!

On another subject - the 2 x 3-series that are mentioned in the posts earlier in this thread...

How can they describe the red one as an M3 lookalike!

It is positively VILE!!!!!!!!!!

I agree totally on the REd "M3 lookalike" its absolute junk. they say you can over do it and this is one "OVERDONE" car.

Mark

Well I might turn out, but not to take the car on track - perhaps just for "initial observation"!!!

It's not a matter of wanting to hit a kerb or come off the track though is it...it's a matter of just happening to do so.....!

I fancy a track car project at some point in the future (probably a pre-built and ready to run one) so my track exploits might have to wait until then!  I'm just too wary about doing this type of thing in my main car!

If you get yourself along for "initial observation" you will kick yourself for not having a go

My 1st.(and only so far!!) track day was Croft last year, had my m3 best part of 4yrs always wanted to do it but never did.
Joined the car club last year so I could (got to be a member), spoke to Nick who organiser's it and he put me totaly at ease It's a better driving day with an open pit lane he said, me totaly confused????

They have lots of instructors on hand, you can go as fast or as slow as you wish, and the best bit is on and off track when you want to, as long as no more than 20 cars are on track, they let you on, you decide when you come off, all the guys are fantastic last year I think there was 15 1st timers. One of the best days I have ever had.
Its not a race, you decide how fast/how much you push your car, catch you on a meet and tell you more

Lovely car coasting. I have to admit I prefered the colour of your old coupe, but the interior of the cab is a lot nicer.

AndyS. Very nice car. The 6 looks superb in Red. A hugely underated colour in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind trying a croft this year, although I doubt I'll have the cash. Also I think my 328's suspension will be a bit soft for the track.
