E39 Auto Gearbox Software upgrade

   I am looking for an upgrade to my E39 540i Steptronic gearbox software. Not happy with the adaptive software which means you never quite know when it will change gear, and generally accelerating in a really high gear unless you almost kick down leaving you feeling stranded. And no I don't want to drive it in manual all of the time. If my old E34 auto box worked brilliantly why shouldn't I expect a more modern steptronic to do so? 
I have seen the Dinan software upgrade appears to solve these problems and sells for around $390 which is cheap for Dinan stuff. Does anyone know if there are any dealers in the UK, or of any other options available here worth looking at?
