Cheers Mark.

Is it best to get off at junction 18 or continue to 17 when coming from the west?

Cheers Mark.

I'm coming down with Alan F so look forward to meeting some of you.

If you are coming from West Autoroute says come off at Junction 18 and head to Acton Turville before going South through Burton. But Autoroute has been known to be wrong!

I do not think you should go on to J17 though.

I've always taken Junction 18 Mark, it's signposted from the M-way anyway, stick to the limits though as they will be out in force, everyone's heard of the Wiltshire constabulary!

The quickest way from the M4 from Bristol/Wales/M5 direction is J18, turn 1st exit towards Stroud then 1st right. Follow that road past the "Compass Inn pub" and keep going untill you get to a 'T junction (Fox & Hounds on right just past post office also on right) There is normally a safety camera just after the long straight and a nice right/left/right series of bends. Turn right onto the B4039 and follow this road untill you reach the circuit. (through Acton Turville, Burton, Gibb past Salutation Inn on left, keep going past Golf club and "Whitegates" on the right, another 400 yrds approx and you are there.) If you get to Yatton Keynel you have gone too far.

From the M4 London direction take J17 and turn 2nd exit towards Chippenham on the A350. Follow brown signs for the circuit.

I work at the BWOC petrol station outside the circuit (on the B4039) if anyone wants to say hi! I will have my SE there too as I want to fit the exhaust on the car in the afternoon. Could meet up somewhere afterwords for a natter??

Have a great day, and see you there.

Paul.

PS, either way, when you get to Acton Turville, it would be wise to stick to the speed limits. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. Although there may not be any cameras atall, better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks Simon and Paul, will give both of you a bell sometime and maybe meet up. Looks like greasy burger for grub which will make a change from Pizza Hut

Cheers Mark.

Hey Mark, Simon! Thanks for popping in to say hi, hope you had a good day, well morning atleast. Typical Rally Day weather soon came! Didn't see any speed cameras though, if I never said anything, they would have been out!  Your cars were still blinging!

Brian (BMG M3) Really nice to meet you, don't worry, I may have seemed more picky about my car than I really am. I've fitted the exhaust now, although its quieter, and the engine does feel more responsive and seems to have acceptacle power now, I am sure it should be quicker, I can still feel some flat spots especially on part throttles. I will get it dyno'd again in a few days and post the graph. What did you say the make of your sway/anti roll bar kits were? Oh, my standard evo3 tailpipes look naff upto your Miltek!

Also Karn (Karnage101), really nice to meet you too, your EVO2 looks real good in that Macau blue. Sorry I couldn't spend more time to chat to you (work!). Keep in touch mate!

So Simon, you gonna post some pics?

Good day out at Coombe, shame about the weather in the afternoon
Was good to catch up with Alan again and meet Lancastrian also. Later in the day I caught Wayne ( v8m3 )just as he was about to leave and got to see his car in the flesh for the first time. The car is simply awesome and the attention to detail is superb....I want one !
On the way home, I stopped in at Paul's place of work to get some petrol and say hi. Paul's Sport Evo was up on the ramp awaiting a new genuine full system, and me being a nosey sod,I had a good look around. His car is immaculate and still being improved upon,so expect it to be perfect pretty soon.

As requested, maybe a bit of quattro bias here though

There was plenty more there, just the weather put a bit of a damper on things!

Thanks Karn! Your Evo2 is well sweet too  wish I had a camera now! I don't know what I've done with it, my phone takes rubbish pictures.

Perhaps the day should have been billed the "Audi Quattro Day"

No problem, amazing car, I had a good look over it, shame I didn't see you, so I could have had a better look under the covers!
