Hi guys,
I've just got my Sport Evo back after it was modified.
It has:
MoTec M4 ECU
284 / 272 cams
Miltek fully stainless exhaust
Existing mods:
Adjustable suspension
Half cage, harnesses, fire extinguisher (!)
Bimmerworld brake cooling kit, braided hoses, Pagid Blue pads
It has had the chain and tensioner replaced. It has done 100K miles. No air-con, no sunroof, no electric windows, not even a radio!
Here are some pics:

My car at the Oulton Park track day this Saturday:

My recently painted engine cover:

Rolling road read out for power:

And for torque:

We know that the rollers we used are probably 10 BHP on the conservative side compared to other people's equipment here in the UK. Bexley's rollers measured it at 252 BHP at 6900 RPM and 200 lbft torque at 4900 RPM. I reckon that the power output would be 260+ BHP on some other rolling roads. But I'm not bothered about that, the car absolutely flies. It feels astonishing.
I am particularly happy with the Miltek exhaust. I think it is the best exhaust currently available for the E30 M3. It has a perfect note, and it isn't too loud......unless you give it some revs.
Cheers,
John.

Cheers Tom.

I like the sticker in your window saying "HOULBT". Was that in your Subaru? How come you use the abreviation "HOULBT"?

And how did you post those pics? I use the same code on other web sites and it works fime.

Not sure.... you need to use the link in the post reply section of the board, just typing the code into the body of the reply does not always work.

Had the Houlbt thing in windows of my scoob for trackdays so other guys off scoobynet knew who I was.... was good for trackdays but looked a bit stupid at other times. OK if your car is just a weekend car though eh?

The name... odd one, was the computer login of my first job an abbreviation of my surname/first name... I registered it on the first internet board I used and have used it ever since.

I got your email by the way... could be interested in a trip up your way some time if only to collect those alloys I purchased in Durham.... I'll let you know.

I haven't got a pic at the moment. I only have one of those old fashioned cameras that uses film, so I can't promise a piccy soon, sorry. However, the exhaust tip isn't too shiny, and it is very short, like a standard one. It has straight tips.

Be careful about not telling your insurance company about modifications!

John, yeh I know, that was one of the reasons for no mods, I thought 800 notes was more than enough for a years insurance as it was...

But I STILL want one!!!

Jase B,

Some Insurance companies do not like modified cars but if you shop around you will find one.  My biggest problem was the full roll cage in my car, my premium was loaded by £200 for the cage, but all the other mods were not a problem.  The list of mods to my car is fairly long and they are all declared with the insurers and my premium is £700 a year.

Andy

Same.... my premium was loaded £185 for my cage and seats...other mods not much bother.

Being a spritely 24 my insurance is £1200..... I think this is about the only reason I want to get old in a hurry

What track days you got planned over the next couple of months Uwe? I'm trying to figure out what everyone is going to.
