They were out with the laser guns again today

Nothing unusual about that you may say, but they are getting even more sneaky

Laser detector sprung into action just as I came off the traffic lights to go down Powis Place, down to the roundabout - not speeding, thats weird, wheres the talivan??

They were standing right down by the roundabout, wearing flourescent jackets standing on the pavement with the laser gun on a tripod!

You'd have to be blind to miss that, right?

Well, they picked their spot well - they're doing roadworks there, and they just looked to the uninitiated like some council workers doing a survey, blending seamlessly with the REAL council operatives - sneaky or what!!

Be careful out there

I dont mind them in built up areas, especialy that close to a school. Its when they start putting stupid ones on a roads where there are never any accidents but they know they can make money that realy bugs me.

this really gets me going!!   I have joined in about a thread like this before. - go catch some real criminals.  junkies, muggers, beggers wine'os, you know the general scum make our lives less enjoyable.  rather than pick on the people that pay there wages go clean up our streets of scum!  Oh sorry forgot that will not directly generate any extra income.  How naive of me.  Merry Christmas.

Drive a road legal car... don't get fined...

I fell about laughing at the Falkirk Cruise at the state of some cars... the cruisers know the police are going to be in attendance, so why turn up in a blatantly unroadworthy car? I just don't get it.

i  agree with u apart from tints,i think it is petty as they are not dangerous,my car is legal apart from tints and number plate, but even when i drove the A6 still got pulled it gets boring after a while when i was younger and had a pretty much standard beemer apart from wheels and lowered i got pulled 3 times i 1 night for routine check, its harrasment, just cause your young with a nice car doesnt mean your illegal or driving like a numpty

Don't the cops up where you are publish in the local papers where they are going to set up speed traps?

They have to by law tell Joe Public where and when they are going to be with the speed traps.

Mell - its a fact of life, if you're young and have a car that stands out from the rest, you will get a pull.  A friend of mine had a nasty looking Golf painted purple with tinted windows when he was 19-20 and he got pulled about 40 times in it.

He never managed to pull in it though.

My neighbour who is a copper (he does drive an E36 328i Sport Coupe so he's not that bad) says that if your car looks like a pimp mobile you'll get a pull! FACT!  It's what else that might be in the car that they are really interested in.

Andrew

PS In my line of work we have to use measurement instruments that have a valid calibration certificate.  Next time you get a pull ask them for proof that the radar they are using has been calibrated properly and proof of this would be an in-date calibration certificate.

Be exclusive and drive a Petrol 5 Series!

I think asking them to prove that their equipment works might change their attitude somewhat... from a stern lecture by the side of the road and a warning to definate points and a £60 fine, i'm sure we've all had brushes with corrupt coppers

oh and the scamera partnership site for this area is www.nescamp.co.uk although the lists of where they will be are deliberately vague in most cases, so its of little use

besides, we all know they're lying s so take the info at face value

i might have got the street name wrong, its the one where theres a fork in the road and traffic lights, if you headed straight on you go onto the street where checkpoint is, if you carry on left down the dual carriageway (where they were) you come to a big roundabout, the roundabout takes you to off to the beach boulevard if you went left, or if you went straight on it takes you towards the harbour?
