We have ideas for two themed Better Driving Days for next year and would appreciate your feedback to the ideas? Plus would you attend?
Will be appreciated to determine the likely level of support.
Croft - 10th Anniversary - Monday 18th July 2005 - Nick Wright
As well as running the day to normal arrangements we have in mind to create a spectacle by inviting owners of M3 E30 and E36 race cars.
Linking into Croft's British Touring Car status, we wonder whether this would enhance the day to see these rare and historic cars on track?
As well - the Institute of Advanced Motorists will be in attendance to sit with members in their cars on local roads and provide a free assessment. This could occur between sessions so that little track time is lost.
Cost: £140.00 per driver and £20.00 per passenger.
Re: CSL Day 23rd Anniversary - Monday 3rd October 2005
The object is to drive Silverstone but the track is frightfully expensive, and we would need a very good turnout.
The features of the day would be to witness the very rare and historic 1970's racing batmobiles out on track along with the new M3 CSL's.
We also intend to put on a large display of the 1970's CS Coupes and for them to drive a couple of display laps at lunchtime.
We are also hoping to have one of the new M5's on track as a 'Circuit Taxi' and driven by an Ex Touring Car Champion, this would be for two laps at a likely cost of £25.00 per seat - an unforgettable proposition.
The Institute of Advanced Motorists will also be in attendance as per Croft.
All this would be going on with normal driving sessions in 2 groups - experienced / fast drivers and novices group.
The cost would be £230.00 per driver and £30.00 per passenger.
Would you support this?

There are some excellent reasons to attend (aside from track time). Definately would attend Silverstone & would try very hard to attend Croft. Well worth pursuing. Phil Edited by Nigel |

richard, count me in for silverstone. it seems a little steep at £230, but, is good value when compared with what the porsche club charge at the same circuit (around £300), donington is good...silverstone is better. just tell me when and where and i'll be there! |

Chris and Barf Good news so far we have received very positive response (not just marketing through the forum) Could you let me have your contact details via the private box and I will keep you updated as matters proceed. The £230.00 is a sizable amount and as you say compared to Porsche quite a bit cheaper. And we are a no profit making club - but the cost of track hire is enourmous! We have missed Silverstone for the past 4 years due to their high cost but so many people have expressed an interest to drive at Silverstone that we thought it was worth another go. Especially as we can get some of these special racers along which we cannot at Donington because of noise limits. As you can tell the focus is Silverstone..... Richard |
