Just goes to show that even sports agents don't always read the small print properly.  Jenson will be 2nd driver next year and given the lousy car etc.  In a way he should have done his homework a bit better.

Williams & JB have said they will abide by the CRB decision. Having seen how BAR have been this year I have no reason to doubt that they will give JB a competitive car for next year.

Maybe their 1st win will happen in Brazil after all.

Well if I was JB I would stay with BAR, not sure on the legal side of his contract as he is/was on loan but BAR have come on leap's and bound's
We all want B.M.W. to get back to the top and Frank, but at the end of the day it's (as far as the driver's are concerned) as it is now in that game where 22 men kick a bag of wind) think they call it....... football, it's all down to money!!!!!(wish i had some)

From what I gather, one of JB's reasons for leaving was that he wasa slightly miffed at Dave Richards because JB is owed loads of money by the team because of a promise DR made (if JB scored points he got more money which never was paid). If there is a bad feeling there then they should sort it out before 2005!

BAR (to me) seem to have a very good team stucture, most of which is based round JB. The thought of him leaving when the team is only second to Ferrari is just ridiculous. Has JB forgoten how quick Frank dropped him after his first year? And how he dropped Hill after winning a championship for the team??

As much as I love BMW I am not a fan of Williams.

Its like your first LUV--never forget it!!!So perhaps JB still hears the blue birds a/Singing and forgets the Mansell AND Dhill treatments. If there is a question of payment on results from BAR , which has not been honoured-theres Nothing like dosh to focus the mind-when the smiling stops!!

Driving for Frank--look in yer mirrors-Day n Night-even in the Garage!!

Frank did not drop Mansell or Hill. Mansell heard that Prost was joining Williams for 1993, after his time at Ferrari with Prost he didn't fancy a repeat so he left for America, his choice.

When Hill won the title he upped his asking price for the following season, Williams offered him a drive but not at the money Damon was asking, Tom Walkinshaw got his cheque book out and Damon looked after his retirement fund.

I'm not knocking what either driver did, Mansell didn't want the aggro and Damon was very late into F1 so he had to think about his long term financial security (I must say he seems very happy with retirement) The fact is that both drivers could have stayed at Williams, the tabloid press may have painted a different picture and I think that is what sticks in peoples minds.

Britain has only had 2 F1 champions in the last 25 years, I'm sure we can all remember the cars they drove, can Williams really be that bad?

Good luck to JB at BAR, he'll do a great job I'm sure, what has happened may be for the best.

Fair point Alan and I would love to see another british world champion and if he was powered by BMW then great. But I must admit that I have lost a lot of respect for Botton recently, I think that he should have shown the team a bit more respect after what they have done for him. Just my opinion.

Yes, I take your point, but it may be a case of swings and roundabouts - If you know what I mean. Dave Richards (allegedly) promised JB money for each point scored, when JB started scoring points like BAR had only previously dreamed of it became an issue and DR said he couldn't afford to pay the staff etc... then within days of this happening DR boought himself a new helicopter (all allegedly) Also, JB has a management team behind him, who take a percentage cut, it doesn't take a genius to work out which way they will push JB. (Is it JB doing the dirty on BAR or his management team?)

Today's statistic - Britain has only ever had 2 World Rally Champions, both under the wing of Dave Richards, so fair play, he has a record of supporting British talent, I'm sure he will treat JB fairly next season.
