I know somebody on here has used this, can't
remember who. I sprayed up a valve cover, on Friday
it says it takes 48 hours to cure, the problem is when
I put it on the car yesterday and then used the car it
became soft again and was letting off fumes! have
had to take it off, anybody else expirence this?

Hi

I used this and had no problems at all. Used nitromoors to strip the cam cover and then spayed it directly on (No primer). I used a number of thin coats rather than one thick one.

Chris.

Aren't you supposed to bake it for a while? That's what a friend did.... while his wife was away

I used VHT paint ,supplied by Frost, and didn't have a problem . Although I did bake it in the oven.
I did use another VHT painton an exhaust manifold on another car which gave off fumes for a short while, but soon went.

I slapped mine back on with no problems that I can remember (If it did soften at first, I didn't notice - it's ok now a year or so on).

Main thing is not to get it on the baking tray!

i think you should heat the cover before painting so the metal is expanded. if you paint when cold when it heats up the paint will stretch and possibly crack...
