Just had a lass on he found busking in a railway station and had her on stage... well impressed. (so was he by the looks of it and Ronnie Wood must have had a quick snog offstage as well - the look on his face said it all..)

Has anybody got one of the new, EC standard issue, bread buttering boards yet .. Apparently they are going to be compulsary by 2005?

If anybody is interested in being part of a group-purchase, please PM me.

The model shown above is not the actual EC approved version, it is the now-discontinued DIS-BB01MkI disabled bread buttering board, which failed to meet the standard grade criteria and has since been superceeded by the MkII

Doesnt look like a european standard gauge EU-1227 buttering spattuler though.. the one they are showing is a left handed non-european model, doesn't go with the right handed board - maybe someone is having you on there mate..

Well pointed our Rhys .. I will raise this, extremely important point with my local MEP at the next borough "crisis talks meeting".

If we dont iron out these issues now, it could lead to a systematic surge of non-approved BBB and Spatula investment. Thus rendering said devices void, by not meeting the minimum standard grade criteria.

Will keep you posted via this thread.

Dont envy you GoldRyder ... all those hours on a bus... If I had a spare few pennies I'd chip in for a flight.... unless of course your not a fan of that particular mode of transport?

I love flying, just not the amount of money that goes to the government....

And not keen on flying with either British Unfairways or FlyWee who are the only ones who fly from my local airport to Scotland.

Yeah, but York city council have taken over from where he left off...

..they like highway robbery as well, and the odd roadwork to halt things up a bit or two.. plus I think they are practising for Ascot next year by closing roads to see what it does to traffic flow..

..You are travelling through York aren't you?

Dont need roads in York...its the home of the railway.

Maybe by closing the roads, theyre trying to get more people onto Bransons new high speed choo choos.

WAS home of the railway, thats all gone now. No more carriage works. S'all houses now, all built over asbestos pits that no-one knows the whereabouts of. They had to put 10 foot of topsoil over ground just in case.

The only thing they have left is a station with half the tracks missing and a meuseum.

Heres a boring railway fact for you.

Network Rail now have to spend thousands of pounds and man hours on environmental management, i.e cutting back trackside foliage, where as in the days of Steam it was done "for free" as the sparks and steam from the locomotives burned it all away naturally.

Plus used to get places quicker as there were far fewer stations to stop at and less maintenance being done.

Two steps forward one step back

At least the old steam trains were reliable and fun to travel on....we still have some down here along with ex London underground trains that are 70yrs old.

Come to the Isle of Wight and step back..or fall back in time...

Which is why I am desperate to leave here.
