Life sentence it was but made easier by the fact that those he looked after did their time, kept their mouths shut and were treated like the criminals they were. Unlike today where they have colour tellies everywhere, have better food than our schools do and have little or no respect for anything. When he was a prison officer he looked after Frankie Frazer, the Kray twins, McVicar and several others of the time. And they all treated my dad with the utmost respect at all times....even when Frankie Frazer accidently trapped and broke my dad's wrist in the doorway when leaving the cell handcuffed, he apologised, sent mother flowers via his family. You wouldn't get that sort of respect from the scum inside these days.
