As others have mentioned i find slowing down to a crawl is most satisfactory, If they want to crash into me thats fine its their problem, and im not talking about slamming on the brakes either, slowing down gradually does just fine, though i may have on rare occasions be known to slow down and keep in a low gear so that when Mr pratt in his glanza wants to burn my BMW ill just plant it. But only in exceptional circumstances and where conditions allow, as much as i hate tailgaters i dont exactly want them killed either by travelling too long on the other side of the road and meeting another innocent oncoming motorist.

Everybody who either speeds up or slows down in response to other people's driving becomes part of the problem; let the others be the idiots. Larzyh. |

I'm sorry but the 316i is the biggest to**ers car out there!! My money would be spent on a nicely specced Passat or Mondeo. The 316i is for people who can't afford a 'real' BMW.
No offence to 316 owners out there! Edited by 635CSi |

I would rather have the smallest engined BMW than the largest engined Passat or Mondeo, if that makes me a "to**er" then so be it. Anyway; I thought people driving cars with big engines were supposed to be compensating... Larzyh.

A new 316i costs quite a bit more than most peoples cars on here - my M3 included. Its a matter of priorities, which you'll discover when you grow up no doubt. @Fey - think you were just unlucky - although theres a good chance that the 316i may become the repmobile of choice. |

Eh...nice edit... Anyway, as I said, a 316i costs more than most peoples cars in this region - so don't bother calling it a poor persons BMW. I don't recall saying I bought my M3 brand new?? Does that make it less of a BMW?? School finished for summer? |

I have and have had a few BMW's , all smaller engined versions, doesn't make me a t**ser in fact it makes me quite sensible, cheaper running costs etc. Leaves me some money to enjoy other things in life too. Never found any of them to be lacking for todays roads. They all do 70 mph, can't go any faster legally. Even found that on a track my 318is can hold its own if driven properly. The sort of t**sers that behave in the manner being discussed drive every type of vehicle from a pushbike to an articulated lorry and of all ages and sexes. Most of them are simply bullies when they get behind the wheel so just let them go and smile when you think that later on they will be the subject of discussion on a forum like this.

I suppose I'm stereotyping a bit, but it's my personal view and I'm sticking to it. I can see here I have another debate on my hands therefore I withdraw all my comments. Edited by 635CSi |

Why? Debate is what a forum is all about, I'm not offended by your comments, your putting your view forward and i'm putting mine forward. So long as there are no personal insults the discussion is healthy. It also gives old fella's like me chance to educate you young blokes |
