Hey Fenderuk How did this go? If you can believe it, the same thing has happened on my 7...not sure how, I think the mechanic bottomed the car on something! I can see that there are clear scratch marks on the botom and what looks like 2 clear holes on the bottom of the tank... Do you know of anything that I can use to repair this? Thanks so much... BB |

Hi Beema I got this from a 7 series site I'm on ...
Sounds/looks similar to how my mechanic described what he put on my car when he fixed it about a year ago but at that time is was 'top secret' and had no labels on the box! Tank still OK
Hope this helps. |

Hi Jack
Do you have to remove the tank to apply this stuff? It looks like a real pain to remove the petrol tank on my car! This is where all the cost of repairing it goes app...on the tank removal. The actual fix costs like 35 pounds! I have tried some steel epoxy putty. It app bonds to steel and when it dries, it is as hard as steel and can be sanded, ground or psinted. So I mixed it together and worked it in with my fingers and let it dry. I think that it is harder than the steel that it is bonding too! I will try putting fuel in the car tonight and see what happens! Thanks BB |

Hi BB My mechanic was able to drop the tank enough to get the fix on.
Don’t know if you're aware that our tank is made of a top half and a bottom half stuck together. My leak was at the seam.
So I suppose the answer is that the tank will drop enough so that you can reach at least half way although I don’t know what, or how much, he had to loosen. Sorry I cant be more specific.
