It only got going about 10 or 11 last night. The database was up and running yesterday afternoon but it wouldn't allow inserts or updates so i had to create duplicate tables and then copy all the data - not an easy task when the host (who I know and trust) don't provide direct access to the database (a security feature)

I plan on upgrading the hosting to a dedicated account where we 'own' the server, (no pain involved!) soon and this will be quite costly.

No idea of prices of these things so what sort of costly? Where would the money come from. Are we looking at a couple of quid donations each from say a couple of thousand regular forum users or more serious money.

The clicks the adverts collect should pay for the hosting when it happens - I wouldn't ask people to fork out for something unnecessarily

I'm sure you wouldn't Killian but if it were required I believe there are plenty on the forum including myself, who would get their hands in their pockets to help out. This is a great forum on which I spend several hours a week. Through it I've had good advice, good debate, humourous entertainment met some good folks and so far all for nothing. Thats pretty good value I'd say.
