Hi, I've looked at my dyno sheet I had done on a new SUN Dyno, admittedly its got some problems, but engine is a standard 2.5L rebuilt with about 30K on it, Superchips and Hayward & Scott exhaust:
Flywheel Power: 184.6 BHP @ 7114 RPM
Road Wheel power: 160.3 BHP @ 7114 RPM
Losses : 28 BHP
Max Torque: 142 lbs/ft @ 6324 RPM.
Will get the printout posted on here as soon as I can. The torque curve goes up and down dramatically too ie 3550 rpm to 4400 rpm has the same torque figure, 4400 to 4600 has less torque (10lbs/ft less!) then it rises 45lbs/ft to 5050 rpm, dropping 15lbs/ft to 5500 rpm, and so on. The power though does have flatspots, but is much, much smoother that the torque curve and doesnt drop any BHP, just rises less in those points where the torque drops. Laughable 'aint it!
Any Ideas would be welcomed.
I do have a Miltek exhaust coming for it.
Paul.

Ok Tom I will punch you in as soon I get round to it.
Looks like I have to split the graphs into 2 sections.
up to 2.3 and above.
Any suggestions?

Uwe... you have mail, I've sent you my figures... which I pulled off the print out I have from Bexleys in November 2002 when the first remap was done.
Peak power was 232.9 at 7080rpm... not bad for a 2.3 with the relatively smaller Schricks.
Will let you know the new numbers in the New year with the airbox/mbe fitted though not expecting great gains just better mid range throttle response and something extra to polish.

Dave's engine can't really be compared. He's got Alpha-N and HUGE port on his head. I am sure if he would use the cams these ports are designed for we would see quite a few horses more!
My two last run's (the red and purple) are done on a different Dyno in Germany. All the other runs are done at Bexley's.
Like mention in another post we should really compare wheel figures to get a better comparision. But everybody want's to see high numbers unfortunately

Uwe,
Looking good.
Although Daves ultimately has more power from 5250ish, your has lots more above 3250 which is more usable in everyday driving, presumably with good torque improvements also.

It does go to show that the AFM, while limiting ultimate, ultimate power and adding to poor throttle response it doesn't perform too badly when wide open.

Uwe, your engine really looks strong with those
comparisons, 70hp more (-/+) than standard at 4750
rpm ...whoa looks like your heading for 270 plus
with A/N

Dave, I knew you would say that. I was just too lazy to key all the data in and it's quite difficult as some of the prints are not very clear after faxing.
I might have a little go later on.
If anyone else want to see his graph in this chart please email a good copy to me.

Ok here we go then. Please keep in mind that I have just read the dynoplot's send to me with a ruler and keyed in an excel sheet. Some of my graphs are done on another Dyno as well, so direct comparision might be a bit of a guess.

Good Tom,
Will help others to see what gains can be had. When posting it will be a good idea to list mod`s as with pistons, cam`s, engine management, air box etc.
