Lads, It's looking like a non runner at this stage, I heard about an Irish 3.0 CSi two weeks ago that went to the crusher, it's going to be either crazy money or they never sell.

Saying that I picked up a very early e28 two weeks ago 7847 LI (520i 4 speed with mechanical injection !! anyone know it ??) 100yoyo and that was going for the scrap yard. I guess you just can't save them all

Which also reminds me,  my 80 635CSi will probably be going to the crusher shortly in case anyone needs some parts.

Is your 635 running? i could probably do with an ecu and the distributer unit.

Think the ECU is history from too many jumpstarts by the PO, distributor unit looks good.

Dax,

If you need to get rid of the motor I'll lift the whole car and bring it to Allenwood if its anyway half right, currently rebuilding a 1979 e24 and sick of stuff going to the yard, The 3.0Csi was a kildare based car, a friend of mine (big scrapyard owner) told me about it but was too late to save.

I'll PM you with the details...

Curley

Yeah Dergside,

Spot on, Westmeath and late 1981, was of mixed minds to scrap or save but it's a rare car having the colour coded rev counter early centre console and LCD clock, so I'm probably going to do the latter, It isn't viable but I'm a sucker for the early e28.

Curley,

Are you single handedly trying to save every old BMW in the country?

Respect!!!! I didn't know you had an e24. Did you ever get your hands on that LHD e28 M5?

Regards,

Bayerische

Cheers Bayerische,

It's my guilt ridden mind, many moons ago I tried to save a solid irish e21 320i. A cracker of a car that just needed an engine (threw a leg..) Phoned loads of guys no takers and the car was bailed, So if the cars worth saving I'll have a go at saving it, even just getting it running under its own steam is sometimes enough for another guy to take it on as a project. The '81 e28 had it's stay of execution but the to do list is nothing short of a full blown restoration.

the LHD e28 M5 has gone to ground, it's in south Kerry owned by a retired german fella and have heard nothing about it for the last 6 months or so. Think it's time for a call !!!
