Shame to sell it! Reality..... If the receipts are not related to the BMW service history, they are just receipts to the buyer. 92, it's 15 years old and a gas guzzler. Even in mint condition the market will not drive to £2,500 unless it has a new engine and you can prove it. What are others fetching in the Autotrader etc? You may get a couple hundred more than that. Sorry to be the bearer of grim news, but the 2nd hand car market is awash with guzzlers at the moment. Sell the other one.

The 535's are doing pretty good on EBay at the moment - if you try and part-ex it at the local garage they won't want to know - like Old Shape said - gas guzzlers.
Have you got any more pictures or info for the car? - I've never had a 535 |

You're missing the most important information - the mileage.
Looks in lovely condition but since most are selling for less than £1000 it needs to be. You state in your first post you've spent 12k on it & in your last "near 15k". What exactly has the money gone on? I know the wheels & tyres will have consumed a good amount (what make wheels - Rondells?) but where's the rest gone? Also, are we talking £'s or Euros? |

A fair bit of money will have gone into having the head rebuilt, gas flowed and ported - Jake, what extra gains did you get out of having the head done - she looks a sweeet motor mate! Paul |

Ive had 8 e34's of all flavours and id say the £2500 is a bit ambitious, id reckon £2100 is more on the mark, people buying e34's tend to look at the mileage in 50,000 lumps so if its done 80,000 the will look at it as a 100,000 car 130,000 is getting 150,000 things start getting worrying underneath, diff seals, brake and fuel line start to need replacing 192 is essentially a 200,000 mile car even with a rebuilt engine, window seals, coil packs, wiring looms start to get a bit ropey. just my tuppence worth |

192k miles???
Friend of mine recently bought a 535 manual in solid condition with a FBMW history. Paint was a little flat but solid. Needs a little tidying here & there but nothing a few hundred wouldn't sort. Mileage is 123k & the car came with genuine Alpinas worth £500 all day long. Cost? £800. You can see where I'm going with this . . . Sorry, but for £2.5k I'd expect half the mileage (or half the price for it's current tally). |

When I bought my e34, it cost me £4500 3 years ago. It was immaculate inside and out with a full service history, all reciepts, 123k on the clock, all the toys, M-tech bodykit and suspension and very rare 6 speed manual box. Since then the market has fallen for second hand cars, especially gas guzzlers, not only that, yours does not have half the toys and a lot more mileage. I'm sorry, but I must agree with the others, it's worth about 2k if that. I would only just value mine at £2500 and I know I'd be lucky to get that now. One reason I'll never sell mine, it's worth much more to me if I keep it than let it go. Ebay might be your best bet. If you can be honest but make it sound attractive, you might get what you want. Sorry mate, but good luck anyway. Mike Edited by 540 V8 |

Disagree - mileage is not that important. Low mileage means it's probably been a garage queen or only out for short runs, so never been allowed to stretch its legs and get really warm - bad! Average mileage with proof of service - good. High mileage with proof of service - fairly good - at least we know it's had a life, and been looked after. (well thats my opinion anyway) |

i hope so but i'd rather have the car. if you try to get another in the future you could wind up spending the same again. best of luck whatever you decide to do. i'm sure your ebayers will recognise a bargain when they see it.
