Has anyone had experience with either 17' or 18' alloys fitted to an E39? How was the drive/comfort compared to the 16" originals? I really love the look of the 18", but I'm worried it might be too firm.
All words of wisdom welcome.........Cheers. |

We have 17's which came with the car as standard and the ride is faultless. The car has 70k on the clock and M-Tec suspension.

Do you think with the 18" 's the ride would suffer a lot? |

I woundn't go more than 18's. Generally if you stick with the largest size the manufacturer went on the car you should not have any ride and handling problems. These cars were designed to take big rims

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll take the bull by the horns and just go for the 18''s. They look so much better and although tyres are that bit more pricey for 18's, I'm sure it will be worth it for the look and of course better handling. I'm off shopping!! Cheers, R. |

Yes spending the hard earned is great fun, especially when it's spent on the car!! Yet another excuse to celebrate. |
