Hi, With your symptons I would try a product called K-Seal. Its tried and tested by the trade. When my head gasket went on my 528i touring, the recover bloke mentioned this. It contains a copper metallic compound and will seal hairline cracks in the block. It costs about £10. Unfortunately I cooked my engine well in advance and the car was scrap. Dont bother with the holts. give it a wirl and see what happens before the car goes to the scrap yard in the sky. All the best and keep us posted. imran. |

maybe not, but it might at least be cheap to diagnose. You never know, it might be something else...

+1. Depending on the age of the car, a cooked engine could mean the whole car is scrap as it will be beyond economic repair. |

And really don't drive it. Those engines cook easily, and are scrap afterwards.

Are there any obvious signs of coolant leaking? I'd get a compression check done which will confirm if the head gasket is blown. Avoid driving the car too much because overheating can kill the engine. |

no not oil but from time to time i have to top up the rad. some one told me it could be the head gasket so i got some sealant whitch you can add to your coolant but this has made the overheating worse

Blown head gasket?
Is it using oil and/or coolant? |
